George McFarlane

George McFarlane is a full-hearted and full-blooded musician and music producer from England. Starting with his own record deals with CBS and multiple international hits in the UK and the US, he grew his roots in contemporary rock with a strong network around the globe.


His first instrument was the bass, when he played in various bands until he joined a CBS-signed act called Grand Hotel in the late 1970s. His breakthrough then came with The Quick, where as a duo is was writing and producing several international hits during the 1980s.

After a few albums, the band changed the name to Giant Steps. The result was following Top 10 hit in America with a song called Another Lover.


From star band to many stars


George focused over the years more on production, programming, arranging and of course songwriting. He has worked successfully with a number of artists currently. Out of the long list of his clients and co-writers, here’s a shortlist: Gabrielle, Kim Wilde, Chaka Khan, Jason Donovan,Rick Astley,Lulu and Kylie Minogue.


From stars to television

His music also made its way into TV shows such as Breaking Bad, Desperate Housewives, Law And Order, Top Gear, Monk, The Office (US), IT Crowd, The Mentalist, Dancing With The Stars (US), American Idol and many others.
